Our Services
MOBILE SAWMILLING
The sawmills we use at BearWood are portable, compact and versatile, allowing us to access your timber no matter where it is.
With minimal impact to the surroundings and no need for large machinery or vehicles, we can offer a simple and cost-effective means to mill timber. Our sawmills have a maximum cut width of 72 inches (~183cm) so there are few trees that we can't mill.
TIMBER SALES and services
At BearWood we stock an ever-growing selection of sawmilled timber sustainably sourced from the New Forest. We can provide kiln-dried, air-dried or fresh-sawn timber.
We also provide various timber services, such as re-sawing and slab-flattening.

BESPOKE WOODWORK
From our workshop on the south coast we produce elegant and unique pieces of woodwork, sometimes also incorporating resin and metal into our designs. Our repertoire includes custom-designed furniture, mantel pieces and building features, to coasters, serving boards and cufflinks. Specialising in slabs or boards of timber for tabletops, benches and shelves, all of our products are handmade and highlight the natural features of the piece of wood used to create them.

About BearWood
Based in the heart of the New Forest, England, BearWood is a company devoted to creating a new life for timber that would otherwise end up as firewood or woodchips.
We can provide a full cycle of services from felling your tree, to milling and processing the timber, drying it and handcrafting something new out of the raw product.
Our ethos is to work with only wood that is not just sourced, but actually felled, in the New Forest. Based on these beliefs, we are proud members of Hampshire Fare and the New Forest Marque, the sign of true local produce.

About Us
BearWood was founded by Alex and Rebecca Tindle in 2016.
Alex has over 16 years of working as an arborist in the New Forest and has seen too many beautiful pieces of timber cut up for firewood. Frustrated by the life cycle of this under-appreciated resource and modern-day throwaway culture, Alex began to craft unique pieces from timber rescued from the worksite, starting with whittled spoons and building-up to our large pieces of wood-and-resin statement furniture.
We are passionate about our independent, family-run business, and pride ourselves on knowing the story behind each piece of wood that we work with. If we need to source other resources for a piece then we always start local and support other small businesses where we can.
For each service that we offer, be it sawmilling, tree surgery, timber sales or woodwork, we are committed to delivering individual solutions tailored to our customers needs, and ensuring that all of our products are of a superior quality, long-lasting and cared for at each stage: from tree, to timber, to table.
