Mobile sawmilling

The sawmills we use at BearWood are portable, compact and versatile, allowing us to access your timber no matter where it is.

With minimal impact to the surroundings and no need for large machinery or vehicles, we can offer a simple and cost-effective means to mill timber. Our sawmills have a maximum cut width of 72 inches (~183cm) so there are few trees that we can't mill.

We provide a variety of horticultural maintenance services depending on what is best for you and your tree. This includes complete tree removal; crown reduction, thinning or lifting; deadwood removal; formative pruning; and pollarding.

We can also manage council applications for works needed in areas of conservation or for trees covered by a tree preservation order (TPO).

timber sales and services

At BearWood we stock an ever-growing selection of sawmilled timber sustainably sourced from the New Forest. We can provide kiln-dried, air-dried or fresh sawn.

We also provide various timber services, such as re-sawing and slab flattening.

bespoke woodwork

From our workshop on the south coast we produce elegant and unique pieces of woodwork, sometimes also incorporating resin and metal into our designs. Specialising in slabs, or boards, of timber for tabletops, benches and shelves, our repertoire includes custom-designed furniture, mantel pieces and building features, to coasters, serving boards and cufflinks. All of our products are handmade and highlight the natural features of the piece of wood used to create them.
